| Abstract
M. TARUNIN: The appearance of the Black Swift in the Tobolsk District Black or Common Swifts (Apus a. apus) appeared for the first time in the vicinity of Tobol'sk in 1926. From 9 June and for several days later the species was common here and in the summer was reported to be nesting in forests ca 110 km southward from Tobol'sk. In 1927, Swifts were seen from 19 June to 26 July, and later reported to be nesting 190 km northward from Tobol'sk. Formerly, the northern border of Common Swift's range was in Tara, Tomsk, to 57 °N in the Yenisei area, and slightly further southward to the east. - Igor Fefelov |
