Data of faunal field research 1982-2002 in the middle Don area between Boguchar and the Khopyor river mouth, covering parts of Rostov, Voronezh, and Volgograd Regions, are described.
Common Swifts nest in small colonies in churches in Vyoshenskaya, Yelanskanya, and other villages, and also in some high buildings there. Single pairs nest under the roofs of smaller brick houses. The latest summer record 23 August (1977).
